
President Tebboune receives former Tanzanian president Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete
The president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received on Tuesday the former president of the United Republic of Tanzania, Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete Mr. Kikwete handed over a letter from Tanzania's President Samia Suluhu. In a statement following the audience granted to him by the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Mrisho Kikwete emphasized President Samia Suluhu’s, special message to the president of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in which she welcomes the excellent relations between the two countries and reiterates the will to further strengthen them.
The audience was attended by the chief of staff of the presidency of the Republic, Boualem Boualem, the minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, and the minister of Health, Abdelhak Saihi. During the meeting, the former President of the United Republic of Tanzania stressed the deep ties of friendship and cooperation between Algeria and Tanzania, and the need to further enhance them.
The Former Tanzanian President also affirmed a common history between the two countries in terms of cooperation and solidarity, mentioning the former, founding leaders: the former President Ahmed Ben Bella of Algeria and the former President Julius Nyerere of Tanzania, who laid the foundations for the solid relationship.
Mr. Kikwete said he was pleased to return to his country with a positive message from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to President Samia Suluhu, which shows a convergence of views on strengthening bilateral relations and promoting them to the highest level. He also stressed the importance of cooperation at the bilateral, regional (within the African Union) and international levels. He also underlined the convergence of views between Algeria and Tanzania on many regional and international issues. He expressed the desire to continue the work for the prosperity of both countries and the achievement of sustainable development in Africa.
President Abdemadjid Tebboune, on the other hand emphasized on the strong historical relations through a long-standing cooperation between the two countries, the support to struggles for liberation and collaboration to promote growth and development in Africa.
