New York, January 20, 2025 - The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, His Excellency Ahmed Maalim Faqi Ahmed, met today in New York with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs of the sisterly People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, His Excellency Ahmed Attaf, and discussed with him strengthening bilateral relations and expanding areas of cooperation for mutual benefit.
During the meeting, His Excellency Ahmed Attaf congratulated Somalia on the start of its two-year term as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, and commended its accession to the A3+ group in the Security Council, praising the country's growing role in international diplomacy.
The meeting addressed a wide range of topics aimed at diversifying and expanding cooperation to better serve the common interests of both countries, and stressed the importance of joint coordination in international forums to strengthen their partnership on the global stage.
