
NAIROBI, July 11, 2024 (APS) - The Algerian Embassy in Nairobi celebrated the 62nd anniversary of independence by organizing several activities for the benefit of the national community residing in Kenya. The ceremony, organized at the Algerian Embassy in Nairobi, was also attended by former Kenyan students who graduated from Algerian universities in order to give the event a dimension of brotherhood and solidarity between the two countries and the efforts that Algeria continues to support in order to demonstrate its solidarity with the African continent, in implementation of the objectives of the glorious national revolution. More than 60 guests participated in the ceremony, which began with the raising of the national colors, followed by the reading of Al-Fatiha in memory of the valiant martyrs. During this ceremony, the Algerian Ambassador to Nairobi, Mr. Mahi Boumediene, highlighted in his speech "the historical importance of independence for the Algerian people and the ideals and values driven by the architects of the November 1 Revolution, who were considered, at independence, as founding elements of Algeria internally and externally. Highlighting the achievements made by Algeria in recent years under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, which aim to improve the living conditions of the population and revive the national economic fabric through illustrative figures, Mr. Boumediene referred on this occasion to "the efforts made to strengthen political and institutional stability in the country by following a concept calling for comprehensive and participatory management of public affairs." In this regard, the Ambassador stressed "the attention paid by the public authorities to the national community abroad", recalling the various decisions taken with the aim of "improving consular services and increasing the efficiency of consular protection in host countries", and "the facilities provided for expatriates so that they can benefit from the various public programs supported by the State". In this context, he stressed the "importance of popular support for relaunching the construction process through participation in the upcoming presidential elections," which he described as "an essential step for success in strengthening the political process."
